Lynne Zsido, Owner, Park Avenue Salon & Spa, Hershey, PA She's definitely a cut above the rest. Why? She never stops learning and growing and refuses to say, "What if...?" New opportunities and a passion to serve her guests drives this business owner to greatness.

A Cut Above The Rest
She’s a driven business owner who actually takes naps
when she’s tired and says she doesn’t believe in competition. Her quest in life? Learning. And serving.
“I’ve always enjoyed learning and growing and when I
became a licensed cosmetolgist I became almost obsessed with figuring out the best way to serve clients,” stated Zsido, 45.
“One day I was sitting in a training class when the instructor mentioned that she had the ‘most amazing’ spa experience of her life over the weekend…and she left it at that. It left me intrigued."
After the class, Lynne cornered the instructor and the next day called the ‘most amazing’ spa, looking for employment. “I was facsinated by their level of service and reputation and wanted to work with the best in the business.” She was hired three weeks later.
in two years she was managing the spa. “Invaluable experience,” she calls it. But her quest to learn and serve would eventually take her at least one step further: ownership.
“A spot came open that was perfect; a good mix of tourist activity and good local traffic. I knew we had to jump on it.” Lynne and husband—a contractor—combined their know-how and built out a place less than 2 miles from her former employer.
What about competition?
“There is no such thing,” Zsido states emphatically. An odd statement in the hair world, where switching stylists is generally viewed as an act of treason. “Most beauty experts guard their client list and get upset when folks jump ship. To me, it’s all about finding that right fit. What I personally offer is going to be totally different from what anyone else offers. We are all unique and bring that uniqueness to any project, to any client we work with.”
“Through the years I’ve found myself doing things I never thought I’d do, learning things I never thought I’d learn. Finding opportunities and jumping on them has made all the difference. It’s definitely scary but rewarding.”
